    Any thoughts on this?
Normal acceleration is fine...all the way up to 100mph that I've tested. But if I stomp on it, in any gear, the car goes to redline but does not accelerate. Back off throttle and all is normal at the prior speed; stomp on the gas again...no power to the wheels just goes to redline. Most noticeable at highway speeds and no where near the governor.

I would guess your clutch is slipping but if you keep doing it I think you would have also noticed a smell.

Even if the clutch is out and in gear? Does not slip during "normal" operation and only when in gear. i.e. Cruising along at 65 in 6th gear, floor gas pedal and this happens.

That's usually when a slipping clutch first shows its symptoms, it will eventually start to slip in low gears.
Where is the clutch bite point?

If the clutch is engaged, the car is in gear, the rpms are rising, and the car is no accelerating then yes the clutch is slipping. There is nowhere else for that power to be going that wouldn't involve loud noises or a lack of ability to move at all.

Yep, it was the clutch slipping, but not due to clutch failure per se. Was a friends 2015 A5 with 16k miles. Audi found something failed in the transmission which caused oil to leak into the clutch...hence the slipping due to an oil soaked clutch disc. Car had to have a new transmission and clutch installed. One dealer denied warranty...stating and I quote "the clutches in these newer Audi's are made less forgiving so they are easier for people to drive". Translation...we don't put quality components in our cars. Another dealership took it upon themselves to dig in and figure it out before placing blame on the owner.

your friend should write AoA telling them how one dealer was quick to dismiss and the other went out of their way to satisfy the customer

This was in Salt Lake City. Strong Audi denied. Audi Lehi fixed. I ran into similar bullshit years ago when I lived there with Strong denying warranty and had to have a regional service manager step in and crack the whip...seems it's business as usual.

Ahh, gotcha. Have had similar issues in Vegas. I go to Henderson for everything now.
