Where to install a boost tap?

I'm going to be installing a boost gauge soon and am wondering where people usually take their reading from? Is there somewhere simple I can install a t-fitting and tap into boost or do I need to buy a fancy boost tap that screws into the manifold or something?

There is a plug cap that is visible on the manifold. Remove it and add a brass fitting with some hose clamps and a hose to connect it to the manifold. You will see it it is a black cap.
