What does it take to install front and rear s4 sway bars on a 2001 A4

If your A4 is the sport model, you probably already have the same front sway bar as the S4.
Either way, it's not worth it to get the S4 front sway bar... if you have the regular A4 bar, then going S4 will only increase understeer.

034 time attack car uses and A4 non-sport front sway bar and obviously their RSB.

You do have sway bars, they are just smaller. I highly recommend a big rear sway bar. I have the Stabilia Corsa rear bar, and it completely transforms the cars handling. Probably one of my favorite mods. And a side note, I remember reading somewhere that a bigger front sway bar on these cars will really only have a significant effect turning at very high speeds (around 150mph). Not worth upgrading

Well I can get both front and rear S4 sway bars for $60. Then down the road I was going to get the H-sports. Do you guys think I should just skip the S4 sway bars entirely?

Yes, waste of money. I had an S4 rear sway bar on my A4 and I couldn't tell the difference at all.

$60 for both is a good deal though, so your call.

where your car is non-sport its a decent upgrade for 60 dollars.

I feel like its a good place to start at least then I can compare it to how it rides now and make more adjustments as necessary. Suspension is next, bilstein hd with h&r race springs.

Same suspension I had, no complaints. Sat pretty nice with 17's as well.

I will be doing 17x8 with 235/45/17 when I need new tires next, probably in the spring. Brakes will go on before that. Going to go with slotted rotors and some brake pads. Hopefully I can find front and rear s4 calipers to match!

Spend money on the myhle HD RSB links. They are all metal compared to the stock plastic ones. I did those when I did the 034 RSB and brackets. My car is stock suspension with 160K on it and the RSB makes an enormous difference. The body roll feels like it's gone, I know it's not, but that's how big of a difference it feels like.
