    Problem with the project

I just bought a B5, it was not driving at all but I got it for $900 so it's not that bad, right now the only thing that bothers me it's that it takes 2 cranks to start, I already replaced the fuel pump and the problem it's still persist. I'm thinking it could the fuel filter and/or the fuel pressure regulator. What do you guys think? It's not my daily driver but I'd like to make it that way I don't have to drive my B8 to work 🤘🏽😂

Any dtc codes? Does it consistently start on the 2nd crank every time? Does it idle after it starts?

I'm sorry I don't know what dtc codes are. Yes, since I replaced the pump that's what does (only on cold starts though). I've read that's a common symptom from a bad pump/filter/regulator. I'll order a new regulator since I bet it's the original it has about 150k mile on those parts

Dtc's are diagnostic trouble codes... If you have a check engine light on, there will be dtc's that can be read from the ecu. Autozone can read them and print them out for you. Sometimes they can point out exactly where the problem is, sometimes they just give you a hint that along with other symptoms help you figure it out.

    Best of luck!

Just a note, there can also be DTCs stored without the Check Engine Light being illuminated.

Thanks! I'll look into it, I just ordered a fuel filter and a fuel regulator since the temp sensor was replaced already. We'll see.
