These are some pics and tips for the 3" xs power ss downpipes meant for the tiptronic ZF5hp-19 transmission. I will do an entire Engine /trans removal-Replacement in another thread.
The downpipes designated for the tiptronic trans definitely need modification. I do not know if they are just the same pipes for the manual with a different label on E-bay.
The pipes are of a quality build, just not a perfect fit since you will need to make multiple dents in them to clear the trans. Plus you will need to remove heat shields and remove heat shield tabs from the transmission to fit them. I cannot recommend heat wrapping them enough! You MUST do this to keep from baking your trans/stuff- but that part is easy and not really expensive.

I do not know if this can be accomplished with the engine and trans in the car- if it is possible, I would still not like to try- Perhaps just removing the sway bar, engine cradle and lowering the whole assembly would make it easier but it would be very painful and I would not recommend unless you are a monk, an audi tech and stoned.

The downpipe on the passenger side(usa) needs the denting and a different hangar from the bottom of the trans.

Here is a photo of the dents you will probably need to make.

Here is the heat wrapped downpipes attached to the engine /trans.

I wrapped the downpipes with about 30' of 2" heatwrap from O'rielly's . I used galvanized electric fence wire to tie it off in multiple locations along the pipes to avoid any issues- I would recommend stainless wire, but I have checked the wire after running it hard and see no loss of galvanization and do not believe it will be too hot for the wire. Here is the view from the bottom of the v-band clamps prior to the test pipes.

The 3" pipes neck down to 2 1/16" ID and slip right over the stock exhaust. Do not try to use the stock slip clamp connector or you will fight it and never succeed.. you can use 2 1/8" exhaust clamps over the connection, and honestly I've been running without any clamp at all , just a slip fit as I have not decided whether or not to do the rest of the exhaust. Hope this helps. I will add more pics and tips after I know this post will work since this is my first time on the forum. Happy Tuning
