Weird engine response and oil leak

So I decided to bring our 03 allroad on a coastal road trip for our 1 year anniversary. Got about $2500 of work done to make sure it was tip top.(front wheel bearings, axles, bags and a wheel alignment). We got about 900km from edmonton Ab to lower BC. Next morning I start the car and smell oil burning. I checked it out and it looked like it was coming up from the drivers turbo but the smoke cleared after 10 minutes and car seemed ok. Armed with extra oil and coolant in the hatch we trucked on. Got to Seattle, next morning same oil smell and location but oil level still seemed ok. A bit lower than before but safe still. Leaving Seattle I gave it a bit more than 50% throttle going up a mountain and around 4000 rpm it hesitated and then came the smell of burning oil from the vents. I backed off and when i made it to the peak I pulled over and checked oil it was definitely lower on the dipstick. I have been driving very softly and avoiding boost as best as possible. The speed has nothing to do with it as far as I can tell and I can still get the engine to Rev up good in park with leaking more oil. The oil appears to be coming from the driver side valve cover gasket just along the bottom. Driving carefully we have made it fine down hwy 1 on the west coast from Lincoln city OR to Cambria CA then east to Vegas all with very limited oil loss. Does any one have any idea or would be close to help me look it over?

I have what looks to be an updated oil cap but it's code ends in D and not F like the ecs tuning cap does. I think I'm getting a massive boost like into the crankcase causing the oil spillage under load. Spider hoses were also redone about 2000km ago with oil resistant silicone coolant hose. I'm only in Vegas until Tuesday morning then driving straight north to home the rest of the week.

check the cam plugs at the back of the engine
common place for oil to leak, burn off the turbo and invade the cabin
    Rockin' the Rockies
'01 allroad, 250k woot woot, still boosting on original turbos and tippy, slightly modified. . .

Ya those were the first things I checked cause I've heard they blow out and make a mess. I really wanna figure out why crankcase is getting pressure tho because I know I could fix the gaskets easy when I get home but I don't want them to blow again soon.

I did them a month or 2 ago following this thread only the hoses are new, the fittings and pancake valve are original still. Where would the pcv be? I am getting so many locations for for it from different threads

The oil cap I have has the orange oil can on it but the code on it ends in D. I saw ecs tuning sells the cap that ends in F. Would mine be vented? It's the one that came with the car.
