Rumble / vibration when making hard turns from a standstill

I tried to search for this exact issue but I got other vibration issues that are unrelated.

In my 2014 B8.5, when moving forward from a standstill and giving only a little gas and making either a hard or right turn (wheel 75% or more to bump stop), when I give it gas I get a rumble vibration throughout the whole car. It's not there when coasting, but as soon as throttle is applied it rumbles. My friend says his B8.5 does the same thing. EDIT: as soon as the car starts coming out of the turn, the rumbling goes away.

Is it some kind of non slip of the differential in a Torsen setup? Is it tire chatter with quattro? Just caught me off guard and I'm not sure if something is actually wrong or not.

It annoys me too. Feels like the car is dragging the tires. But it's normal

Awesome thanks, I'm glad it is normal. I'm coming from xDrive and never felt that before, wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy :)

What you are feeling is the friction of the tires scrubbing against the road surface. Since the turning radius of the outside wheels and inside wheels are different, it is difficult for the Quattro system to compensate at very low speeds. So the tires scrub the road surface to allow the wheels to turn.

i had the same problem. I was used to my xdrive being very smooth all the time. You get used to it after awhile, although sometimes it still catches me off guard

Interesting that someone else is claming (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-B8-5-A4-vs-S4) that the B8.5 has a different center differential and should NOT have this behavior. Yet everyone else seems to be saying it's normal.

I used to have this issue, until i got my timing chain tensioners replaced under the TSB 2039995, and now this vibration is long gone, not sure how it relates, thoughts?

When I first got mine I thought the tires were rubbing, dealer said the noise was common on B8 S4.
