    B8 S4 or tune B8 A4 Avant?

So here is my dilemma and I'm asking for opinions one way or the other. I currently have a bones stock 2009 A4 Avant P+. I was looking to keep this vehicle regardless of my decision. I was looking at picking up a used B8 S4 in the range of $25-$35K as a daily driver. I could do some mild tuning and I'm sure it would drive fantastic. However, I also really like the idea of a fast wagon. I bought the B8 A4 Avant instead of the B7 S4 because I really didn't want to take a chance on the S4 after reading some of the threads. So would you keep the A4 Avant stock and go with the S4 or put some of that S4 money into stage III on the Avant and why?

Edit: I posted this in the B8 S4 section as well.

...you might have already read this thread, and it would be a massive high maintenance undertaking...but damn.
I do not know if this is true because I have not seen the car with my own eyes but I have heard of current generation RS6s being federalized in the US, and more specifically in LA, which CA smog laws seem to be the most draconian.
Can anyone back this claim up? Is it BS? I have only heard rumors. I have also heard, you need to have DEEP pockets to go either of these 2 routes...however, these are my 2 main wagon fantasies.

I'm all about the fast wagon...but I'm biased...that s4 swap would be the best!

Yeah that S4 swap looks sick!! I found that a few months ago digging around on the forum. I just hate that Audi gives us one wagon option with one engine but if I want an SUV I have a buffet of options with both size and engine. Such garbage!! I'm leaning towards keeping the Avant stock and having my wife use it for her daily and get me the S4 as a daily. As I said in the B8 S4 forum I just really like the idea of a fast wagon. I may just have to wait until Audi brings back the S4 Avant or I win lotto and can do an S4 swap with an Allroad.

I would go K04 with water meth setup. Lots of AZers daily this setup. It wont be S4 fast but allot less expensive than doing the conversion or buying a S4. I plan to go K04 at some point around Christmas.

I'm happy with the new APR v.2 93 octane tune on my 8.5 allroad. The car feels like it lost 1000lbs.

Since I spoke with a owner of an B8 S4 manual in Italy, this project is in my head.

If I had time and money, that would be my total dream car. period.

Do you know if someone ever did a complete b8 s4 6 speed swap in a B8 avant chassis ?

Or a VIN swap + NA bumpers from europe would be easier ? ( Illegal tho....)
