    I think I bought a handicapped modified S5

I knew when I bought the car that it had indentation on the steering wheel. Thinking that it was likely caused by a steering wheel lock as discussed in this thread. I accounted for it when buying the car.

However, after buying the car I found the mystery broken panel as posted here:

I think I finally discovered the mystery after finding this sticker:

I can't say that I bought a lemon, bought not happy that this was not disclosed to me in the purchase.

My mom was a paraplegic and she had a circular "handle" attached to her steering wheel so she could easily turn the steering wheel by grabbing the handle and using it to turn whatever direction she needed to go. The handle had ball bearings so it spun freely. It was really convenient.

Does it show any signs of paintwork on the roof? My mom had a device that picked up her wheelchair, folded it and stored it in what looked like a hard shell roof luggage holder. I can't think of anything that would make it not meet federal vehicle safety standards.

If it had a steering wheel knob added, maybe that'd make it non-compliant with crash standards?

It must have had the wheel knob added.
But based on the damage shown above below the steering wheel there was more going on. I am trying to take some more pictures.

It was the "hand control" that I linked above. It has 2 attachment points so that's why you see the 2 damaged areas

I took some more pictures from the underside. Would appreciate on feedback on how mine looks different form a stock car.
I guess so far I learned that the panel needs to be replaced and the steering wheel adjustment handle needs to be attached.
A bit concerned about the replacement of that panel due to the airbags beh

For example is there a cover missing underneath?

The grey bracket to the left of the steering column looks a bit strange.

The black panel that holds the light is a bit damaged in the corner.

    The obvious:

Holes in the gas (and break pedal)

I doubt there is anything you need to worry about, but I understand being a bit apprehensive about it. On the bright side, maybe you can park in handicapped spots.

Holes in side of gas pedal are attachment points for hand control to operate gas pedal. Missing plastic piece is probably where a rod passed down from hand control to push down on brake pedal and gas pedal.

This car had hand controls. I have pics from my car but I don't see an attachment option on the reply. Make sure you still have the knee airbag; they had to take mine out to install.

Anyone here who has a picture of the S5 underneath the steering wheel? I would like to see how it looks like in an untouched car. e.g. if there is an cover.

    Friendly bump.
Wondering if someone would offer up a picture from the underside of the foot well of a S5/A5?
Trying to see if there is another panel (vent panel)?
