    Reverse camera retrofit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

I'm an owner of a A6 C7 from 2011 (one of the first models in the C7 line)
I have a RMC navigation unit but i will upgrade it later this year to a MMI 3G+ wit Audi Connect.
But now i want to install a reverse camera and i was looking on Ebay to buy the camera and module for it.
I can find those for around 300€ but when i look at the kufatec site, who sells the whole set you need to choose which model year the car is from. Are there any difference between those modules or something?

    Greetings

if you're planning to retrofit 3G+ better wait for it and install original reverse camera, otherwise buying now some aftermarket will be a waste

They are original from Audi but it looks like you have different types.

alex @ europrice.us can assist with ordering the correct product and do so at a fair price.

Thanks, this helps me a bit but still don't know it yet.
The thing i want to know is what's the difference between the 38025 and 38025-1. Cause on Ebay there are some seller who sell the control unit and the camera but then the question is what cable set i need to use.
Kufatec makes a difference between models before 2012 and after it.. Only thing i need to know right now is what is that difference.

it is my understanding that 38025 is for A6 C7 models before MY2012 and 38025-1 is for models MY2012 and beyond; however, to be sure i would recommend one of two courses of action 1. email Kufatec directly (they have websites dedicated to multiple countries, so search with your country and their name). 2. email Alex @ [email protected] and he will answer correctly). either way you're looking at around $800 US for kit. And i would only trust Kufatec's products- they're OEM Audi only. hope this helps

I believe the first lot of C7 came with an analog camera, and a different controller. (basicly C6 stuff)
So, if you want to change the MMI, then I would aim to get the digital camera, with the right controller.

I believe that the rear facing C7 camera is still analogue, and only upgrades to digital if you have the front and rear cameras fitted as part of the parking pack.

If you only have a rear camera, and want to upgrade to front and rear, you need to swap out the controller for the digital version, as well as change the rear camera to the digital version.

Just to gripe the reverse camera in my 2016 A7 is pure crap compared to the camera in my 2011 Charger. I can barely make things out in the camera.
