I seem to have an issue with the climate control in my '05 B6. I noticed that the A/C vent temperature didn't seem that cold. I took a thermometer and with the A/C on and the thermometer in the right centre vent I was getting a reading between 55F-60F which seems quite subpar. This was with the system is auto the fan at medium speed, recirc and the left and right temp set to 19C.
I moved the thermometer to the left centre vent temp dropped to mid to low 40s. I moved the thermometer to the far left vent and got temperatures in the mid to high 30s.
Obviously the system is able to produce enough cold air but it seems like there is a large variance in the temperature between vents even with both driver and passenger temperatures set the same.
Is this normal operation for the system? Any way to do a system check with the actual controller or do I need a Vagcom?
