I also sent an email. Just trying to get the fastest response.

I purchased a short shifter kit and I plan on installing the kit soon.

But it seems this kit didnt come in the 35% reduction setting from the factory like it said it suppose to.

I have pictures. Let me know if its in the correct spot.

And how tight is the screw or the nut suppose to be? The base and the shifter, it moves freely. I have it screwed on their but not tight. Cause I dont know how tight it needs to be. Last thing I want is the base and the shifter nut to come undone while driving.

So I'm a little worried installing it since someone at jhm didnt properly but this together.

The last picture is how it came from factory.

If it comes loose and I get into an accident. I will try to sue jhm lol.

But yeah I have no idea how tight that nut needs to be.
Is it suppose to move freely or not?

There needs to be a video about this. And how to change out the spring.

I read some headaches about jhm. But people said they had good experiences with the short shifter kit.

If anything maybe I can ship it back to them on their dime since it didnt come factory like how it should be.

Who knows, maybe @Jake@JHM will be able to hell me out

Personal opinion: Return it and get the ECS short shifter. It is way more adjustable and appears to me to be a much better made shifter.

And to answer your question about the bolt. I assume that it is a shoulder bolt so it should bottom out on the shoulder without clamping down on the shifter rod. You should be able to snug it up pretty good. If it isn't a shoulder bolt all you can do is tighten it up as far as you can without interfering with the movement between the shifter rod and attachment clamp. The clamp should rotate freely on the rod.

I have the JHM short throw and solid shifter linkage kit. Have had them both for two years, and around 20,000 miles. I've had ZERO issues with either kit. It was a pretty serious reduction throw, feels way more solid/positive.

I don't remember which spot it's supposed to be in for the shortest throw, but the nut doesn't need to be cranked down, otherwise it will impede smooth operation. I got it to where it was just starting to pinch the bracket but not crushing it to the point where the lever wouldn't move freely or independently from it. I also added some metal grease to assist in keeping it feel extra smooth for a while.

Nothing is going to come loose and cause an accident lol. If anything comes loose, the worst case you'll likely have is just changing gear will be hard (or impossible) which is possible with ANY shifter on ANY car if not aligned or installed properly.

I believe the spring and nut are installed in the correct spot. Everything looks exactly like mine when I got it from JHM, and looks perfectly fine. If you're worried about the nut tighten it a bit more, but just not where it stops anything from moving. I've had several people tell me it's the best shifter they've ever used or felt, with both mods and a weighted knob.

I don't think I adjusted the location of the shifter nut, so, according to this older picture of mine yours is in the right spot if I remember correctly.

I just looked at the JHM installation video. Yours came assembled incorrectly for the 35% reduction. Sazexa's came assembled correctly. The video also confirmed that the assembly utilizes a shoulder bolt so you do not have to worry about over tightening and clamping down on the shift rod. There should also be a washer that goes over the portion of the bolt shoulder that extends beyond the clamp. Yours appears to be on the wrong side. Refer to Sazexa's picture. The washer goes underneath the nut.

Thanks. But I'm not sure if I could get a full refund at this point.
I don't mind if it's not as adjustable as the ecs version. As long it reduces the throw and it shortens the height about half a inch.

I just want it throw reduced at 35%. Cause that's one of the main reasons I bought a SHORT shifter kit. And hopefully a better feel too.
