    Car randomly won't start sometimes

The car always cranks but sometimes it just won't start. I can bump start it by pushing it and then dropping the clutch and it runs completely normal. I was thinking a crank position sensor but hen it should run bad too. Any opinions?

Does it not start after getting up to temp? Like run to the grocery store, come out, and it won't start?

    Need more details.

Yeah pretty much. It always starts when it's cold. It made me think of the possibility of the coolant temp sensor going bad. It should of thrown a code though.

Yeah that's what I originally suspected (as said in my first post).

You should able to watch it change in vag com while you try to start it. If no change, there's your issue

Crank position sensor, same exact thing happened to me last week. Once it started it ran perfectly fine. But every so often would not start. Crank position sensor fixed it.

When you have the car running hook
up vagcom & look at your live data for
CPS, coolant temp, speed sensors, MAF
    values etc.

you are getting nothing when you turn the key?

You should check with VAGcom before throwing parts at the car, but you may also have a bad starter (dead spot on the motor coil) or possibly even your ignition switch. I replaced both, but in my case, it was the starter.

I already logged everything and everything checked out. The car isn't throwing any codes except for some weird code having to do with the crank position sensor. I know it's not the starter because it's turning over the motor.
