    A4 has Sport Diff option

I was pricing out an A4 Technik today, choose the 'Advanced Driver Assistance Package' package

"There’s driving on rails, and then there’s this. The Audi quattro with sport differential system transfers power between rear wheels to provide optimal distribution and dynamic handling, giving the driver more control and superior safety, as a result. Sport differential distributes torque between the rear wheels to deliver superior traction and avoid under-steer all together. Depending on the steering angle, lateral acceleration, yaw angle, road speed and other signals, the control unit finds the best distribution of torque for the particular situation"

    Bug? Or legit?
If so, I can't wait for the 6MT to get here!

Sorry, here is the link : http://www.audi.ca/ca/web/en/models/...r.GPDUPDU.html

It looks like a bug, I think the actual driver assistance package includes blind spot detection and all the other stuff like that

If true, good news. With the 6MT and a tune, a reasonable upgrade to the current S4.

Now if only the Allroad came with SD and 6MT....

The Sports Differential is available on certain A4 models in Europe. (I know for a fact it is on the large diesel and possibly other models, too). So it isn't inconceivable.

It is also possible that Audi Canada offers it while Audi USA does not. There is precedence for that.

However, I suspect if it was an option then we'd clearly see and it'd be part of the Sport Suspension (i.e. SLine model).

Can sport diff be retrofit after the fact? How difficult? Rough estimate of cost?

It varies by country in Europe. For example in Finland, where I'm from, it's been always available for V6 engined cars. So both V6 diesel and petrol have this option. The S4/S5 have this standard here, but in some countries it's optional for the S-models.

Four pot engines never have this option available, anywhere.

The S-line packages has zero effect on this in Europe. S-line is mostly cosmetic over regular sports package - especially now that no S-line suspension is available, like we used to have in B8 platform.

Not only does the A4 not come with it, I've not seen anything around the S4 coming with it. Seems the B9 has lept forward with safety and convenience tech but not with performance tech.

Where on earth are you inferring this from? It's definitely not on the A4, but why would it be? Audi included the sport diff in its initial press release for the B9 S4, and you can go to Audi.de right now and configure it yourself. Honestly, all the garbage people put out on these forums can be embarrassing.
