    New Sprint TI Owner

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

Just picked up a Sprint TI RS4. 117k on the clock. This is not my first Audi nor is it my first B7. I had a 2005.5 S4 6MT a few years ago, then moved into a 2016 S4 DSG . I loved the B7, as for the B8.5...

Plans for the RS include coilovers, wheels, tint, weighted shift knob, and exhaust work. Which leads me to this question, what is the best set up? I want LOUD. I have searched youtube up and down but the majority of the clips are from name brand systems. Unfortunately I'm not looking to spend 3k+ on a Tubi Rumore system. With my B7 S4 I had an X pipe with muffler deletes and it sounded heavenly. I'm tempted to go in that same direction. If it sounds too "sloppy" I can always throw a resonator in there. Also had a Black Forrest Industries weighted knob on the B7 and am thinking about grabbing one for the RS. Are there any better options?

Day one down and I am absolutely in love with the RS4! Can't wait to start modding.

    Obligatory pics:

    B7 S4

    B8.5

    And best for last!

    Gratz on the purchase!

    exhaust: JHM
    coilovers: KW V3

feel free to read up on what others say in this section, lost of good previous debates on whats the best. It always comes to JHM for exhaust. the 2.75" tubing just wins. sounds amazing too. and yes, LOUD haha

well, we spoke on the phone today. come by the shop. I did the work on that car previously for the last few (or more) years. I am a JHM retailer, as well as AWE, and ECS. I can get you all setup. JHM you cant go wrong on the exhaust, and I recommend bilstein PSS9 Coils.

I'm with Frank on his choice of GMG. For obvious reasons.

Having trouble getting my Sirius up and running. It's not giving me any preview channel but rather saying to call a sirius number which I tried. I'm wondering if there is an update that I need through Audi? As I recall this was similar to what happened with my B7 S4 and then it started working. Thoughts?

Mine had some funkification when I tried to activate it because these are from the pre-sirius/XM merger. go to the new siriusxm website and have the ID code off the box in the trunk handy. its in the drivers side cubby hole. Thats how I got mine going.

Congrats and welcome! I didn't have any issues while activating the Sirius on my '08, but it did take two tries due to signal related issues since I was between two tall buildings.

OP, drop the existing system and go for an upgraded head unit. Features and sound quality so much better with an upgraded speaker and amp system. IMHO this car is a great platform for a rocking sound system. I went 6.5 separates in the front doors and a shallow mount 12 in the trunk driver's side, where the little "closet" was, a JL Audio 900/5 powering the whole thing, not sure if i am going to do back doors, but I can. Only compromise I found was the hands free calling with BT, with the RNS people thought i was actually on the phone, upgraded system is not as good.

None the less, sweet car, color and TI is money. Let us know what you do about suspension, thats the next thing for me. On the GMG I almost traded for it, problem for me was it is SO loud. I start work very early, i would wake up every neighbor for blocks. Didn't want to be THAT guy.

Call Sirius and ask them to resend the signal. I've had to do that with every Audi I've subscribed to Sirius.

Get used to people knowing you by your car and forum ID, not your name. :D

well, My GMG with JHM downpipes is not close to as loud as Alexj87s full 2.75 JHM catless, unresonated. his car wakes the dead, in a good way.

Lived in NH my whole life, just moved to Pepperell,MA (basically NH) back in February. I work in Nashua, so I'm still in NH 90% of the time. What part of the state are you in?

Edit: Just saw your post a few posts up. Yeah I live semi close to you then.
