Part number# 8E0-959-643-D - if you have questions about install feel free to PM me, I know i was searching for DIYs for that B-pillar.

Sensor is changed out and code is gone but i ran into a different problem. One i didnt expect....well, to this degree. #hondastatus

Pulled the wet foam up to uncover this.

Wondering what the best course of action is. I almost want to drill 2 new holes somewhere so the sensor is away from the rust ocean. Yay or Nay? Not sure if sensor is supposed to be there in that specific spot or if i can move it but keep in same vicinity. I know the later models have them in the door panel...Smart.

I think as worried as I would be about the air bag sensor, I would be more so for finding out where all the water is coming from. If you can get the leak fixed then drilling holes and relocating close to the original spot seems like a good idea.

this is where I ended up putting the sensor.

where would the water be coming from? I know after a rain storm the water just sits in the door, still seperate from interior, and when I open the door a bunch of water spills to the floor. all of my weather stripping is intact except for the trunk.

Clogged drains or bad seals (probably near where you have so much rusting), would be my guess.

I have had water in the cabin due to a blocked drain under the battery and a bad seal at the ECU. Might be a good idea to remove your driver's seat and see what is going on under the carpet there. I had to pull back the carpet in my 2005 to get rid of the damp foam after I found and took care of the leak.
