C7 Rear Camera Retrofit Project

There is a retrofit kit for the rear view camera for cars with the MMI system. The kit comes with the camera, interface and wiring harness.

Has anyone on this forum done this retrofit?

If so, do the seats and floor board need to come out to successfully run the wire?

I tried searching the forum for past posts and only found a project where OEMplus (now defunct?) did a full 360 view retrofit on a C7 with multiple cameras- I'm not interested in such an undertaking, only want the rear camera installed.

Anyway, any tips or diy info would be greatly appreciated.

Had no idea these cars came without a rear camera...but to run the wire just route it along one side of the trim hidden behind it all the way to the trunk. Similar to running subwoofer wires, from there you can probably find somewhere to bring it on to the trunk area.
