    Mod Friendly Atlanta Audi Dealership

    Hey guys,

I'm new to Audizine, I picked up my 2017 B9 A4 in early July, and plan on doing some performance modifications.

    DownPipe
    Tune
    Intake

I know some Audi dealers are willing to work with you for service even with a few modifications and not flag your car. Does anyone have experience in Atlanta with previous Audi's or a current one? I bought my A4 at Audi North Atlanta, but there are 2 other dealerships in the area (Jim Ellis and Audi Atlanta).

    Any input is much appreciated!

Looking at your future mod list, I can tell you, you'll be flagged TD1 with the tune. Irregardless of the dealership being "mod friendly" it's my understanding that when the service tech plugs in and scans your car, their system will see the tune. Instant TD1. One method which I have read/heard works is having the tune COMPLETELY unflashed from your ECU, then reflashed back on once your service is complete. The DP and intake, you might be able to get away from. Now this is all predicated on the B8/8.5. Since you're a B9, Audi's ECU security protocols may have changed, thus making it either easier or more difficult to get away with modifications.

Like Zcspec said, if you leave it flashed you will get a TD1. Flashing back to stock may or may not prevent TD1 depending on how deep into your ECU they go. Down pipe and intake may be OK if they don't manually TD1 you...

Can someone explain TD1 briefly? Will be going into a 2017 or 2018 Allroad when I let VW buy back my TDI Sportwagen. My TDI is currently Malone Stage 1.5 and I've brought it to the mod friendly Stamford, CT VW Dealership twice now and have not heard anything about being flagged (not that it matters with the TDI anymore).

Thanks for the heads up. My brother works for a European motorsports shop just outside ATL, and they would be installing everything. So, I assume I can stop by there before going to the dealer for service every 10k miles and have them flash to stock... I wish we could find out more about the B9 ECU

I don't think I've read that VWs have been tagged with TD1, just Audis. I could definitely be wrong though.
