    Which Tune for C7 S7

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
There seems to be many more choices here than we had on the B8 platform for the S5. EPL is interesting, APR is a household name, GIAC, Velos, Revo, etc etc..
I've read plenty here on the C7 board but is there any consensus on which is best and why?

    I appreciate any info.

No, there is not. All show good gains, and some allow you to flash back to stock without requiring dealer support. Pick the hp/tq curve you like the best or decide based on your requirements for dealer support.

It took me a while in choosing a tune. On paper, a tune is tune with very slight HP & torque curve differences, IMO. You can't go wrong with any of the big name tuners-APR, GIAC, REVO, Unitronic, etc.
I wanted both ECU & TCU tune that I can flash (and flash back to stock) on my own at home. I also wanted to reduce my chances of getting a TD1 flag once flashed back to stock. I know I know...nothing is guaranteed. I ended up going with EPL. This is my first tune and I feel that I've made the right choice. So far so good-another happy customer!

Being able to apply the ECU & TCU tune at home & flash back to stock at home. EPL seems to provide the flexibility & is popular now for the 4.0T.

I have a 3.0t, but I'll chime in anyway. I used to have giac, but they still haven't had a C7 update in over a year. I ended up switching to EPL and haven't regretted it. Dealing with Tony at EPL, even though he's a few thousand miles away, is like having your own personal tuner. I cant speak for the 4.0t platform, but for the 3.0t, he give me updates and support very frequently. No other tuner from what I hear does this. Right now I have 3 files, stock, 91oct and e85 that I can pretty much flash where ever I want, whenever I want. Just my 2 cents.

EPL is great. I love their ecu and tcu tunes and Chris is very helpful! Being able to flash back is amazing.

Thanks for the replies. EPL is actually a short drive from me. Convenience factor is key and flashing at home with a better chance of no TD1 .
    Almost sounds like a consensus.

In the past I would have said Unitronic, but I think EPL would be a better choice now. The Unitronic flash leaves a heap of errors after the flash and if you don't have a vag-com cable to clear them, it could set of alarm bells at your dealer. They said they were going to fix this, but haven't. EPL seems to be offering much better support. The NZ Unitronic dealer has also let me down, big time, so I would not suggest anyone here in NZ consider them.
