    C 5 A6 (2003) tranny into C5 Allroad (2001)

The tranny in my 2001 Allroad has a worn (play) output shaft (front left) bearing.
I have a good tranny out of 2003 A6 (BEL) here (and the rear diff).

    a) are 2003 A6 and 2001 Allroad same connections, mounting points, TCU, etc.?

    If so, could I

    b) install the A6 tranny into the Allroad, and change final drive (how difficult?) over from the Allroad tranny
    c) ditto, but instead of changing the final drive, I swap out the rear diff and keep the (taller) A6 gearing.
01 Allroad Tiptronic, TCU tune, mild stg 3 (350 HP) tune (stock injectors) KraftwerkTurbo TM1. Lower, Wider. Custom tip vent pod with Podi
02 Allroad 6 spd, Kraftwerk Turbo TM6, 750cc, 3" MAF, piggy, FMIC, CM stg 5 (hate). 30 psi at 3600 rpm. Needs stronger rods (coming).

    A) the transmission connections are probably the same. The TCU connections probably not, but that is easy to check.
    B) yes the A6 will fit into AR. Final drive not so easy
    C) easier option than b

However, your issue may be the TCU. You will want to keep the TCU with the tranny it came with. The shift maps may be different between the 2 and the ECU will not like it as it is expecting one thing but getting another. Wished you were closer. I have a gearbox from a 2001 AllR0ad with 115k on it
