Hey guys, so today I went to get out of my 2001 A4, and the interior handle stopped working, I felt slight resistance, but the handle didn't snap back when let go it just stayed in place. Ever since I got the car, if you locked the doors while driving, you needed to lock and then unlock them before the handle would open the door, and just pulling the handle would raise the black door lock piece next to the alarm light, but it would not open the door (unless locked and unlocked as previously stated). So I took off the door panel, and lo and behold, the metal clip was missing for the handle mechanism, and the cable slid off of the latch. Then the black piece for the lock (what is the actual name?) came off and I can't figure out how to stick it back into position. Where can I get a new clip? And is there anything else that could be wrong? The exterior handle works and the door locks and unlocks just fine. I doubt it will affect anything, but I have an inspection later today.
