Wow! It's good to know my APR dealer doesn't up charge on flashes. That's some serious BS. The flash takes 15-20 minutes at most.

Yeah wow mine doesn't either. 10/10 would avoid shops that charge to flash.

Mine will flash you back to stock for when you need to take it n for service or warranty and then they will flash the tune again afterwards all for FREE. Would avoid this shop like the plague.

my local apr dealer was doing it for free too, then they got bombarded by folks wanting to update, so they started to charge $40. my previous APR dealer always charged $70. When buying the tune the first time, I would think there would be enough profit in it to not charge for labor? After that point, it's a business decision. Does free updates or re-flashes make their customers buy other stuff from them (making it a loss leader), or will it just be a drain, labor isn't free. There are probably both types of customers. At the end of the day they need to pay their employees and make a profit to keep the doors open.

you can always go the unitronic route- free updates in the comfort of your garage with the uniconnect setup. way better option imo

I did consider them, they didn't have a 91 octane stage2 tune at the time, not sure if they have one now. They were unresponsive to my emails asking when/if they will provide a 91 stage2 tune, but I did get to question them on another forum finally, and they said I can just run their 93 tune. .

There is a cost associated with a technician using the right tools that we have to account for which all have a cost. will13k7 said it best above.
