2012 B8 Headlight Ballast and Bulb to 2013 Headlight

I'm currently doing the facelift conversion on my 2012 A4 and I ordered a pair of 2013 Headlights that are missing the ballasts and bulbs and I was wondering if I could just take the parts from my 2012 headlights and just use those or if I have to buy a new ballast and bulb? Also wondering does anyone know if I would have to do any coding for the new headlights to work?

Isaiah, I am in the process of facelifting my 2009 Avant. I had Bi-Xenon's in the car to begin with. I plugged in the facelift Bi-Xenon lights and everything worked. I get an LED trouble light on my gauge cluster when I turn on a turn signal. The led drl goes out as it should with the turn signals and comes back on when the signal goes off. My fenders,hood, and bumper are getting painted now and I hope to put everything back together next weekend and I will see how the coding goes. Somewhere there is a post where someone swapped the guts from pre face lift to facelift housings.

@isaiah @mrw How are the swaps coming?! I'm extremely in doing this but have not pulled the trigger on it. I have a B8 Avant 2012. It is a rare one for being monsoon prestige s-line w/blackoptic (that's a mouthful) so i am hesitant to change much on it but please keep me posted on the swaps. They are going to look so good.

@mrw @shellraider Ok nice to know other people are doing the same thing! I haven't gotten to the point you're at yet because I have a few things I have to fix first but I'll make sure I look for the post. Let me know how everything fits I've read before that it should just be a direct bolt on but is that true?
