What do you do with stock exhaust after you replace with after market?

Considering exhaust mod.. what do most people do with the stock exhaust? Scrap it? Don't really see them for sale in classifieds often, so assume doesn't retain much value?

Due to limited storage space, holding onto stock exhaust is not really an option. If I sell/trade in the car later, will the dealer likely lower value as a result? Anyone deal with this issue on trade in, how much $?

I kept mine for my S4 thankfully. Had a mechatronics issue and they wanted me to remove the exhaust and Intake before they would cover it under warranty. I think I will do the same thing in the future if I do any exhaust swaps. Limited space does make it more of a PITA though. Also, put the stock exhaust back on for trade in as well. Good resale value on aftermarket systems.

You can cut it down into a few pieces if needed to make it smaller for storage.

I have scrapped the OEM exhaust with my past 3 Audis. The RS5 i just traded for my S7 had the Akrapovic system. The value of the Akrapovic is significantly higher than the other Aftermarket performance options. I was lucky enough to have a forum member offer me his OEM exhaust (that he had stored) which allowed me to sell the Akra. I sold the Akrapovic for 50% of what I paid, so still recovered some of my cost. Had it been one of the other brands, it may have not been worth it.
In the past, the aftermarket exhausts have not impacted my trade ins. I would just make sure you are sold on the exhaust you're thinking of going with. If you scrap it, there's no turning back.

The stock exhaust comes off in a single piece. Get the guys who put on your after market to cut it into a couple of pieces for you so that a) It will fit in your cars trunk b) its easier to find somewhere to store the parts at home.

I left my AWE on when I sold my A7 3.0T It has a small positive impact in the trade-in value. There is zero resale value in the OEM exhaust.

If you are going to take it home in the trunk, don't forget to take something to protect the trunk. The exhaust components will be pretty dirty.

Have you decided what to replace it with yet?

Leaning toward AWE Touring.. it's my family car so need to keep it somewhat civilized. I see you have the Roc Euro.. do you notice performance increase or more change in sound at his point?

Cut into 3 pieces similar to how the Miltek came to me and thrown them into the workshop in my backyard. Though I don't plan to part with RS7 yet but few years down the road who knows?

A few of us have the RocE. The waiting time/lead time can get a little crazy, but Id recommend getting it. Butdyno says some performance improvements. But soundwise, l absolutely love it. You can hear the twin turbos spool up and sing

My performance shop trashed it per my request. I kept most of my stock parts from my RS4 and never put them back on before I got rid of it. I traded in the car with all the performance mods and didn't have any noticeable impact, good or bad. Then I had to trash the unneeded RS4 parts a few years later. So this time around I just junked my stock exhaust and parts for my S6 right away. My experience so your mileage may vary...
