Just curious how loud this car is on the inside. I read the older v8 is ranked among the loudest cars on the road. I do realize its a sports car so its going to be louder than most.

Not bad at all. I've even got an aftermarket exhaust in which I typically always have in sport mode with open valves. When windows up its extremely civil...especially in cruise setting.

V8 engine is quite quiet until hitting 4500 RPM, at which point the volume is moderately loud.

The old V10 is slightly louder at lower RPMs.

The new 2017 V10 Plus is amazingly loud, but if you turn off the sport exhaust (via the steering wheel button) it turns into a quiet sleeper. I would say about on par with the old V8, if not quieter.

Are you worried about outside noise for neighbors or inside noise for comfort? Are you looking at used V8s and 2015 or earlier V10s?

More with interior noise cruising on the highway. Was thinking a new 2016 or 2017. But I have to admit it would somewhat of a long shot dedicating $2500 or however much a month to a car - its not the easiest expense to justify. I don't think I would dream of having a car like this out of warranty.

We've got a manual V10 R8 as a shop car and even with the louder ABT exhaust system... the in cabin noise is very minimal.

In that case the 2016+ V10 (Plus) has a decent drone at highway speeds, and you definitely want the sport exhaust turned off if you are trying to keep that drone down. At road speeds the V10 Plus in quiet mode is amazingly quiet if you don't push it. I'll have to take the V8 out again to see how it compares, but I'm pretty sure the new one is louder.

I took the V8 to work this morning. The road noise in the V8 is definitely louder than the 2017 V10 Plus. I think they've done really well with the interior padding in the new ones. In the city when not pushing it you will hear a lot more noises in the old one, too. The new one is only more noisy when you want it to be :)
