Installed DICE Ipod adapter, draining battery?

Just as the title states, about a month ago I bought a new battery for my 2005 allroad, verified the other battery was dead etc. Everything had been fine.

I installed the DICE kit a few days ago (Thursday), once I figured out where the connectors go, it was pretty easy. Friday afternoon after work and Saturday morning when I started the car it fired right up, but the initial turn of the key had that draw like the battery wasn't 100%.

Today, after the car sat for 24hrs, battery was completely dead. Wouldn't even unlock the doors or illuminate the dash lights etc.

What would cause such a draw to kill the battery? I had my ipod hooked up through the stereo in my MKIV Golf with just a usb port in the radio with no issues for a few years.

did you wire it to a constant voltage source by mistake?

Wouldn't matter if it was constant or keyed 12V there's no way it would cause battery drain in anything less than months or years. Those adapters draw Milliamps, no more than that. If sucked enough power to drain a charged battery overnight it would physically melt.
    You have a different issue...

Here are the things I did on Thursday.

Installed a new face plate on my climate control-re install climate control

Had my factory radio out while trying to figure out a faceplate solution for the cob job, re installed the RNS-E.

Installed the DICE integration kit. I do leave the Ipod connected and in the car.

    Installed OEM rubber floor mats.

I also checked the ac refrigerant level on Thursday because its always nice to find out the AC doesnt work when it 100 degrees in the shade

Unplugged the iPod and DICE control box, wiring harness still connected. No issues whatsoever. Beats me?

Plug the DICE back in, but run a test light between the ground connection and where you are grounding it. Turn everything off and see if the test light lights up. IF there is a large draw the test light will light up; it will be very dim to bright depending on how much current is being drawn.
This will tell you if/ how much of a drain that DICE has happening...even turned on and charging the Ipod light should barely light up. You could use a multi-meter/voltmeter to measure the actual power draw that way also. It's hard to believe that the device could draw enough to drain a car battery..because...what's it doing with the power?
It would have to do something with the power it's drawing, typically a faulty electronic device is 'shorted' and turns the power into heat. But that much power power would be ALOT of heat, which usually destroys the device pretty quick.

It's an iPod touch, if that matters. It had me thinking the other day, of it was continuously playing while sitting there, then that may do it?

There's also a red light that stays on, inside the DICE control box. But it's an led so doubtful that is drawing any power.

Cleaning the passenger side footwell the other day and I hear something humming. With the DICE controller hooked up, but no ipod, something inside the nav unit was running. Sounded like a cooling fan or a computer drive. (car is off, keys not in the ignition, and car was sitting without being started for a few hours prior)

Unplug the DICE unit, 5 seconds later the noise stops. Plug it back in, and the noise starts.

I haven't had time to do what Rollerton suggested, it is on my list that never seems to get smaller.

I will add that the RNS-E unit that is in the car, isn't from the factory. I am 99% certain on this because its too tall (hazard surround doesn't fit correctly) and its too narrow. I'm assuming from a B6. Would this have something to do with it?
