    Buying S4 Advice

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

I've been a long time lurker and am finally pulling the trigger to get a S4, so I figured I'd try and get some input. I almost bought one 4 years ago when I bought my 2012 Golf R but I'm looking for a change. My R has been stage 1+ since a month after I got it.

I'm looking at new or close to new. If the B9's were coming manual I'd be going new but they aren't so that adds a complication. So now I'm trying to decide how badly I want manual and how little I'll actually hate the S-tronic. Because I really don't like the BMW automatic in the 340 at all.

So my search has led me to find a 2016 manual S4 at Oakville Used Car Super store. After a lot of emailing back and forth I finally have a pretty good idea about the car.
It has under 7000km and apparently traded in at Oakville VW
It has H&R springs, with Bilstein shocks, front sway bar, rear sway bar
    APR intake
AWE Exhaust (not sure which one)
They can't answer me on if it's chipped or not.
Car comes with all original parts as well.
It was originally listed for $64995 and is down to $59995

So my question is by any chance does anyone know who owned this previously?
Does anyone have experience with Oakville Used Car Superstore?
Does it seem like a reasonable safe purchase? I'm torn on the risk here.
Do the suspension mods make a big difference? Because I honestly wouldn't have bothered with the suspension changes. The exhaust and intake I probably would have done.

Anyways just looking for some input.

With those mods chances are the ECU's been tuned. You could try and get the VIN number and go to your local Audi dealership to see if the VIN's been TD1'ed.

I would expect it to be chipped but it's very unlikely it's been TD1'ed because it hasn't been to a dealer since the in service date. The carproof doesn't show anything other than the initial put in service entry.

Honestly I will chip it eventually anyways but I'd like to drive it a bit to make sure if anything is wrong with the engine I can still get it warrantied before I do. Part of my issue is I struggle with why someone would trade it in with all the mods and basically lose 15-20k after just 7000km.

True... if it only has 7,000 km it probably hasn't even seen the first scheduled service.

Maybe it was smacked up pretty good like the low Km white 2013 S4 I saw on Autotrader. Fortunately, that dealer was very upfront and posted a link to the Carfax.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just read the carfax the dealer posted on their own website. Sorry.
I am the before A4. Still stock and loving every minute of it!

Yes I saw that car. Price was too good to be true. Saw the Carfax claim for almost $30k!

Just get a Chipwerke until your warranty is over.
It's proven to be almost as good as a real tune or even better in certain instances.
    Cheaper and removable.
And when you are done you can sell it very easily.

Looks like you are getting a lot of good mods for free!
Don't underestimate the suspension mods, they are expensive and worth it even if you don't track it.

.....and why is it at Oakville Superstore and not Audi store?

Maybe Oakville Superstore bought it and trying to flipping it?
