Worth Getting Audi Connect? 2014 CPO A7 Prestige

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi All,

My first Audi and I am in love with it. I bought it the last day of 2015 (yes, taxes) and I have added about 10k happy miles already.

I could use some opinions here: - worth paying for Audi Connect?

    Thanks in advance,

In my opinion, it would only be worth it if you travel frequently, like for your job...or if you live in a traffic nightmare hell area.

I didnt really use it during my trial...the Google earth overlays were "cool", but definitely not required. Never used the hotpot in the car...I think that's gimmicky. Creating a NAV destination online (via PC) and then importing it into the car was cool, but again, not "pay for monthly service" kind of cool.

It's worth it for me. I've got it on my AT&T Shared Data plan, so it's only $10/month. I use Google Earth all the time. IMO, you get used to the more realistic looking maps. But for me it's more about the convenience of the doing Google Local Voice searches from the car and the ability to send destinations from my Calendar, Apple Maps, Google Maps, Yelp etc. directly to the car. Occasionally checking the weather or looking for parking in an unfamiliar area comes in handy.

I assume you mean "reveal" . Via the MMI Connect app. To send a calendar destination, open the app and under myAudi destinations pick Calendar and then select an appointment with a location. Then hit Send or swipe it up to the car. To send destinations from Apple Maps etc. you simply share the location with the MMI Connect app. I did a brief write up on AW.

Thanks superswiss very nice I hadn't noticed the share to MMI. Makes perfect sense.

Is the only way to get the MMI app to import to the car is to connect on the cars wifi?

I don't mind doing that but I have unlimited data on my iPhone so I don't want to stay on the car wifi while I'm driving.

I use my Audi connect all of the time. It's certainly worthwhile.

No need to connect to the car's wifi. The import works through the cloud. Both car and phone connect via your myAudi account.

I really love Audi Connect. The Online Google search is great and I love the hotspot. I use it to stream Pandora and not burn the data on my phone plan. The sending destinations to the car is great as well.
