    Odd that the car from 15 years ago crashed better than the car from 5 years ago.

    The first two cars were tested using a small overlap crash. Where as the 2002 a4 was closer to a full frontal impact. The small overlap test was not a thing back then, so this is not a direct comparison. I'm sure if the 2002 A4 had the same crash setup, it would come out far far worse.
