    What's average local shops charge to swap a front regulator on a B6 A4? Got a quote for 5 hrs labor which seemed crazy as DIY seems to suggest it's much quicker than that.

    If you mean out a front window regulator. It takes about 1 hour of actual labor time for me. But the shop is entitled to charge book time which is about right

Hawk HPS frt & rr. RS4 PS rack, RS4 Servotronic Relay,RS4 rims. S4 mirror caps,DTM frt bmpr and rs4 fogs,LED tail lites
    S4 Recaro Front & Rear seats. Led Interior Kit,United LED's fog lites
    2007 A4 Avant 2.0T Tiptronic 6spd

    Yea, front window regulator. I know they go by book time but couldn't believe the job went from 1.5 hours to 5 like that.

    Yep.... Book time involves adding up all the necessary labor operation to several parts and to re- them. I think most labor guides give you 1.5 hours just to remove the panel. Or you can always find a shop that does flat rate operations. I think the major retail chain stores do them also. ex: Pep Boys, GoodYear, Firestone just to name a few

    Yea, makes sense how they got to 5. Was told removing the door panel and the motor for the window are time intensive. Going to see if I can wait it out until next week and try it in the driveway.

    i've replaced all four regulators over the past 10 years...it's really an easy well documented DIY...
