    Value of a 2014 S5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking at a 2014 S5 coupe for possible purchase. Auto, Nav, sport diff, and nappa leather. It is a CPO at an audi dealership and has 24K miles. Estoril blue in very good condition(looks good in pics, but have not physically seen the car yet), with a clean carfax. Is $44K reasonable? Seems a couple thousand too strong to me. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been seeing Non-CPO 2013-2014 for around 38-42.. So it does sound reasonable but will vary by car i guess

I'd offer 39-40k, new body is coming out and they're going to need to clear inventory for 2017's.

Thank you both. My research indicates this car should be in the 41 to 42K range. They just got the car in, so negotiation may be a little stickier. We will see what transpires on Saturday, when I go to look at the car (provided they still have it).

I just did research nationwide and bought a Ibis white 2014 S5 supreme plus with napa/sound/few bells/whistles NO "sport diff which is 1k upgrade I found" non CPO BUT in service date of 12/13/14. So with only 16.6k miles warranty will go till mid December 2018 which to me was as good as you will get on a 2014 remaining warranty. Sticker was originally just over 62k with options............I closed at 40,600 which to me based on miles/warranty left and the car was as clean as you will find in/out/under hood etc I think I got a smoking deal based on other cars with more miles/less warranty and asking low to high 40's. Car dealership took mine in on a trade on land Rover and the dealership started trying to sell around 46/47k. They had car over 70 days NO Audi market in Tucson! SO, I was very pleased with the sale price as you just cant expect to get the lower miles at much lower prices especially if your CPO etc. I looked all over on the on line forums.........took a risk hopped a flight to Tucson few weeks ago and now awaiting some wheels for it to arrive today.

What was original window sticker price?? They can get you original sticker if you do not have it already. Keep in mind sport diff is a 1k feature mine does not have that option darn! They may have settled in around 41.5 to 42k if mine had had that feature will never know. How long has car been in their inventory you should find that out as dealerships have different levels of pain longer car is in inventory! To me it comes down to once you narrow in on a car you "like" (after you see it/drive it), it is great and fun to seek out the "lowest deal" BUT same token what are YOU willing to lose this car over $$$$ when it comes to what you are willing to pay and them sell it to you. IS it worth haggling over 1k or even 2k and if car goes away will you be disappointed you lost it over that. IF they remove CPO "extended warranty right?" will they reduce price BUT what remaining amount of 2014 warranty will you have as is? 4 years OR 50k miles starts when car is sold. SO you hope for original sale late 2014 like mine! How many more years miles past 50k does CPO give you vs. remaining factory warranty?? So it was also important for me to know how many months the Land Rover dealership had my car to get a sense of their urgency to move it. Any car you buy CPO at the dealer will cost you more I have found! So what is bottom line price "you think" they should be at and what do you think they will bite at to move it. I did not haggle at price negotiated which was negotiated prior to my trip with promises that car was more than clean top to bottom. Had them send videos first! My pricing I thought was very fair for whats out there and the car checked out in many ways........I would cry had I lost it by wasting time over going back and forth over another 1k coming off pricing. IF its clean...(yours)......like really clean and CPO with 24 k miles I think "low 40s" is very fair IMHO with extended warranty BUT I wish I knew if it was a prior lease car or not my guess it is. Id reach out to another AUDI dealership and talk to sales rep make friends and see if you can squeeze out of him/her what type of spread these cars yield going from lease to sales status with CPO at the 24k miles. I talked to multiple other Audi sales reps/friends to bounce stats of car I was looking at and its pricing seeking more educated/informed people's opinions before I agreed to buy. They all said my deal sounded good so I too had to agree made me feel better at least thinking I got great deal. Its my first Audi love it........could most likely flip it in Dallas next year or two for around same I bought it for. Good luck !! I'd seek 41-42k WITH CPO BUT ask if it can be removed for a bottom line sales price. Tell them you are ready to buy the "right S5" now! If they tell you they cant lower any pricing I'd ask them why don't they want to sell you a car! Always throws them for a confusing loop!! I looked long/hard/smart so I tried and think in the end it worked out for a great car really fair deal (they claim they lost money on!). OH see when last Audi service was done like oil change etc ask them to do that too prior to agreeing to buy! My car had new pirrelli's (sp?) put on by them etc saved me 1200 bucks etc. Good luck hope they give a little! Sounds like you are between a 2-3k difference them vs you to close you IF car checks out. Id set a figure in your head see how close they will go and then up to you! Will you have wished you paid the difference of the 1-2k they may not come off the car if you lose it etc. Any back ups or close seconds?? IS car near you or would you need to trailer it back? IF car is far away Id ensure they have it detailed and you are coming ready to buy IF it checks out but I established bottom pricing prior to my trip/flight. I had it put on a car carrier (not enclosed gambled there) back to Dallas almost 800 miles I spent $650 from Tucson to a golf course 5 min from my house. I didn't want to drive 800 miles. call me if you like 469-767-2645 as I found a few other good ones along my way which was just a few weeks back!! I can point you to those for comparison if you like! Interested to know what $$$$ if you tell them you dont want the CPO warranty BUT makes sense to get it if in reason cost wise! David

Thank you David. I have seen the window sticker. Car stickered for a little over 62K. In service date is may of 14. Car was sold, serviced and returned to the dealership that has it. Car is 500 miles away. A friend of mine that lives close looked at it Sunday. Only saw 1 rock chip in hood and a few in the bumper. Rear bumper cover has some scuffs that from loading/unloading trunk that should easily buff out. No door dings or hail dents. No evidence of any repaint (unreported accident that doesn't show up on a car fax). New tires that are the brand and model I would have put on this fall before winter (Continental DWS06). The wheels have some curb rash, but are supposed to be getting reconditioned. Was told the car will have the 25k service performed. They have only had the car a week or two, and it has everything I want on it, in the color I want. It is not currently certified, but salesman assures me the will get it there. This will provide warranty coverage until may of 2020 ($85 deductible after may of 2018). I won't pay more than $40K for a non CPO car with these miles and may '14 in service date. Weather they are willing to move a whole lot or not I plan to look at the car this weekend. If we don't get anything done, it will still be a nice weekend trip to the mountains.

    I Bought it

Went out to Boulder over the weekend. Ended up buying the car. The Estoril Blue Crystal is a powerful seductress. There are a few light scratches here and there, a few chips, and 2 small door dings that I didn't see until after I bought it. It is a CPO car with warranty until May of 2020. It also has prepaid Audi Care for the 35K and 45K services (probably worth $400?) The 25K service was done at the dealership prior to me coming out. Brand new tires. The reconditioned wheels came out nice. Ended up paying $43,250 including their doc fee and audi financials fee. They also collected sales tax for my area which was another $3250 Did get 1.9% financing for 60 months. I would post a pic, but I'm not allowed to post attachments yet.

Not allowed by who? If you mean this site, then I don't think there's a restriction. I made my account earlier this month and the same day I made it I could upload images. Simply make a PhotoBucket account, upload pictures to that site, and it provides you with an IMG link for each picture that you simply copy and paste into this white box.

On a side note, Congrats on the Purchase! Very low miles on that beauty. Can't wait to see it!
