Swaping parts question. 04 b6 parts going into my 02 b6

    Hey guys,

I have a friend who's getting rid of her car and told me I can swap whatever I want from car to car. Her's is a 04 with the power driver's seat and in my 02 I have the mechanical lever to adjust how far I am from the steering wheel. Will her seat swap into mine with no issue?

She also had a brand new driver side door that she had got off warranty a couple years ago, I'm wondering if I can just swap the doors over?

I believe that I shouldn't have an issue doing these swap but something keeps telling me to check here first because maybe there's some differences in between the 04 and the 02.

    Thabks guys

Seats will definitely swap, although you'll need to do some wiring. I forget the specifics, but they are on this site.

I can't see why the doors wouldn't swap. As long as both cars are the same (both sedans, or avants, or cabs).

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to try to find the specifics about it, her seat is mint while mine is ripped lol both cars a sedans with bose so I wouldn't see a problem either. I just wanted to make sure because you never know with these cars lol

The doors will fit with a little work you will need to swap your door locks into her door if you want the doors to lock and you will have to put the wiring harness from your door into the her door or the master window switch won't work as the wiring harnesses are different. At least that's what I had to do when I swapped my 2002 door with the door from a 2004. I have not had ay experience with the power seat swap but you might take a look to see if the seat wiring harness can be swapped between cars. Because I don't think Audi puts wiring harnesses into their cars when the harness is not needed.

On my 2002 avant with manual perforated leatherette heated factory seats (I think I had power lumbar maybe) I was able to swap in s4 recaros without having to do any wiring, just plug and play and everything worked, only had to upgrade passenger seat fuse to a higher rating

as long as you have power lumbar just change the 10A fuse out for a 30A one and its good to go, if you don't have power lumbar then you have some wiring to do. I'd swap out the whole interior as a non perforated driver seat will look goofy if the rest of your interior is perforated, its not hard to do either. As said above there were a few wiring changes so the doors will swap over however you should reuse your stock door harness as some of the plugs were different/ diff p/n goodies since 02 was a weirdo year.

Thanks for all the replies guys, at the moment my driver seat has heat and power lumbar so the only difference would be the to have power for the seat to go back and forth. I just completely re-did my door harness since it was fubar'd from the last owner, he had ran straight wiring through the doors, I've fixed this by adding the door clips for easy removal. Will I have to swap the connector portion that goes into the car or just the one in the door?

Thanks for all the help, looks like I have more work than I thought... In the end it'll be worth it though.
