B6 Crank no start when sitting for 5+ hrs?

My 04 ultrasport 135k miles 6spd.. Did 2nd air inj delete, new plugs, oem coolant sensors and new evap purge valve. Everyday when i leave work at 7 pm ( car sits for 10hrs ) i go start car, i can hear pump prime. Crank and no start? It wants to but feels like it has no fuel at the rail.. Crank for 2min or so finally starts and runs rough( miss ) smells real rich.. When i get it running on all 4 cyl, car runs great i can shut it off and will fire up no problem. Wont start only when it has been sitting for a while, it doesnt matter if i have 1/4 tank or full tank either. I replaced fuel filter i was told on the B6 the fuel regulator is built into the filter. Did not change anything still crank no start. Please help

My car A4 B6 04 was doing this and was also throwing a Coolant temperature sensor improbable code. It is in at the workshop while I am away with work getting the sensor and a few other things replaced, but sounds like it should be the issue.
My car appears to start lean because it sees the engine as hot. And once up to temperature runs perfectly. If my issue is something else I will chime in again.

Sound like it's dumping fuel into to engine. Check on vagcom when the engines cold, check ect, iat, oil temp, and MAF readings. If the engine thinks it's cold outside, it will dump extra fuel to compensate for decreased volatility. Check MAF readings to see if it's heating up properly. On the mechanical side, check leaky injectors( if motors flooding when sitting), check fuel pressure when the fuel pump is cold. Running the pump for a min or 2 might warm it up a little and create better pressure/flow. You probably don't have a massive vacuum leak if the car runs good after it warms up. Good luck man!

I had this issue before.it was the fuel pump.the pump has a one way valve on that goes bad and allows the feed line to loose its pressure as it sits.
