How is your front plate installed?

Brand new A7, the license plate is attached to the big license plate plastic mount by two big screws just screwed right into the plastic. Looks cheap as heck to me for a $70k car.

Is that the way Audi attaches their plates or did my dealer cut a corner?

Mine was originally on this bracket. Then if you removed the bracket. It looked like the second picture. So I purchased the license plate delete from Europrice.

Your's looks different from what I got, but bear in mind Im in a S6. On mine, the chrome strip does not have the break for the plate frame and it does not have those pre-made holes. The license plate frame I got was just drilled straight into the plastic of the grill. When you remove the plate frame, you just see 4 screw holes where someone drilled into the plastic.

And yes, it looks rather cheap.

And Georgia. Glad that FL doesn't as I bought my used A7 from a seller there. :)

I had the same issue when I got my A7. Did some research and found the plate holder on ebay for $100 brand new. I hated every bit of having to spend that much on something that made the car look worse. Stupid California law.

After seeing tons of Teslas without front plates I said eff it, I'm taking mine off. So I ordered the plate delete from europrice. Much much better.

Did you do the install of the delete fuller plate by yourself? How difficult was it?

I did... It wasn't too bad but you have to get all the tabs off... Look at the filler plate to see where they are on the car. Also if you have parking sensor you have to remove those before taking off applying new plate and reuse those.

The only difficult aspect is using enough force to disengage the tabs, but not enough to break them.

You guys in states without front plate laws are lucky! However, California front plate law is not strictly enforced, and not all Audi's come with a front plate since the delete option is free when buying new. I bought a 2014 S7 CPO that already had the delete option so I consider myself lucky too.
