I use the 1Z Lederpfledger ...leather cleaning/conditioning cream. Check in Detailer's Domain. Easy to use, smells good and it leaves the leather surface a bit slick so you don't have the friction that causes most of the abrasion. Only draw back to it is that some don't like slick seats for spirited driving.....you slide around a bit more.

the issue is that the seats are not actually leather... they have a coating on them that most leather cleaners / conditioners won't work with because they are made for actual leather. The key is to keep them clean and moisturized as only dry leather will crack and split.. any expensive product such as leatherique would be a waste of money.

I think S4, S5, etc. are the only true leather seats. The standard, sport, and S-line seats in the A4 are made of "leatherette". I think the only true leather part is in the middle of the bottom cushion and seat back.

I would love to know what people use to clean and protect this crappy leatherette.

Even the sport and S-line ones? There's definitely a difference between the material on the standard seats and the sport ones.

    Not completely true.

The portions of the seat that are vinyl are the following: the top and bottom side bolsters, the entire back and side, and the headrest. The large center portion on the front of the seat is leather. I clean and conditions my seats a few times per year with standard Lexol products and they are holding up well after six years, with no signs of cracking.

I use Lexol also on my S Line seats and even though the bolsters are wrinkled the rest of the seats are in excellent condition.Make sure you treat the leather with cleaner and conditioner as often as possible.I do them about 4 times a year.

That sounds right. I don't understand why they didn't make the sport seats all leather.
