    Splicing O2 sensors....

I'm splicing my rear O2 sensors back together and realize I have a couple of options.... What I would like to do is to solder a small extension in place (4-6") and heat shrink it and pull the sheathing back over it... however, I don't have a tonne of time to run around looking for 20G wire... My reason for the extension is to make it easier to solder to the O2 sensor under the car... I picked up a coolant fitting and the guy at Napa gave me some 16g wire, but I'm concerend it will drop the resistance too much and mess with the sensor readout. The other option is to use some butt connectors and pinch them together and wrap it all up... this is probably easier... but I feel that soldering would be best.

Just wondering about everyone's experience with this.

Before you pull the sheathing back over it, put a little RTV on both ends of the heat shrink.

    An ounce of prevention...
