    Power Steering Pump Hydraulic Line

I have a 2001 Audi C5, A6 twin turbo, 2.7 L vehicle. It is slowly leaking power steering fluid. I believe it is from the extension hose from the power steering pump that goes under the intake manifold down to the power steering gear. I did a search and could not find any recommended proceedure for replacing this hose. I was hoping there might be one out there that I did not find. In particular I wanted to know if the intake manifold needs to be removed to get at the hose.

    Thanks

Thank you, much appreciated but I do have this schematic, what I was looking for was a DIY guide from someone who has replaced this hydraulic line in the past. I was not sure if the intake manifold needed to be removed to get this line out and replaced.

the hose with the banjo fitting connected to the pump running back under the intake manifold.

My engine is headed on its way out of the bay so i just went and looked. You could easily remove that hose without pulling the intake manifold. Looks like if you remove that banjo, then follow the line back, it has a bracket that attachs it to the manifold, remove that. Then the hard line is attached @ a 90 right after the bracket, remove that and you could be able to slide that hose straight out from where it connects.

Thank you I really appreciate the guidance. I will be ordering the hose and give it a go.

I had to swap this line when I did my 2.7 swap on my s6. It is pretty much terrible. So little room to maneuver and get the bolt out.
