    V6 3.0 Camshaft timing - open circuit

    Hey guys,

    This problem just occured:

    Camshaft timing adj. Bank2 (n208)
    P1536 - 004 - Open circuit

I just thought it was a bad sensor, but since I have a spare engine I swapped the sensors, after the first swap the problem was still there, swapped it for another one, still there.

I can't figure out what to do now, must be something to do with the wiring im afraid?
All the other camshaft sensors are oke, just this one throws a code.
I have the check engine light on and the car slightly vibrates when running stationary.

    It's a FWD automatic 3.0 V6 cabriolet.

Can anyone point me into the right direction? Im not very good with this electric stuff..

I agree. That sensor wiring (below the coolant reservoir) gets a lot of heat from the catalytic converter below. As a next step, I suggest inspecting that wiring. The plastic tubing that it runs through is probably very brittle. Or gone.
