FM Radio station name/Song Name

Anyone know why when in Preset mode FM stations do not show Song Information, but when I get out of preset mode and show all stations it works? Sat radio stations work fine. I have a combo of FM/Xm and even AM in preset. Not sure if that is by design or not, but its a small thing that is starting to annoy me

I get artist/song title on preset FM stations, but I notice it won't change as the songs do. In other words, the artist/song display sticks on whatever song was playing when the present was first selected.

If I change stations and come back, it will update with the currently playing song, but will then not update again unless I change stations. Might be a related issue.

I've seen different behavior from different stations in my presets. Some show song info, some don't. I don't think it's the car, I tend to think it's the stations. At least that's the conclusion I've come to. <shrug>

Except in my situation All stations don't show the info but again if I get out of preset they do...

It's definitely weird, and I can't make much sense of the behavior either. Honestly, the local stations here are such total crap I spend most of my time either listening to the engine, or mp3 from the SD card. :)

I wanted to make sure "it's not me, it's the car" thing :) next dealer visit ill mention it maybe mmi needs an update. But this issue been happening since day 1 I think - 2 years later it's starting to piss me off

In my case, it IS the car. I listen to only 1 station everyday. It is the ONLY station that refuses to display info on the MMI. This same station displays just fine on every loaner car I've ever had from the dealer. I'm at a total loss to explain it.

Very weird indeed! If you guys get an MMI update and it fixes it, post back here! Mine was just in for the 25k service, and they noted on the checklist "Check MMI and Navigation Updates" as "OK". But then again, they did claim they couldn't hear the shifter making loud squeaking noises with each gear change so....

I have had similar issues, I told my SA about it when I dropped it off for a service one time. After he said they scanned it and found no faults and I had somewhere to be so I couldn't inquire further or leave the car there any longer. I might go back and ask again.

This drove me crazy on both the Q5 and S4, but it's normal. I just switch back to non presets to see the song and switch back.

Really? A friend in Cali owns a 2016 and tells me it shows in both pre set and normal which triggered my post. Then posts above reinforce that too it seems

I brought them both in separately '13 and '14, and they returned as "normal". I recall there are threads on AZ regarding this "feature".

Maybe they finally got it right in '16.
