    Oil ring orientation

    Hi guys,
I have a new set of piston rings to install. The top and middle ring are clearly marked with "TOP". The oil ring does not appear to be marked. The top ring and the oil ring have a yellow paint marking on one side of the gap.
Does anyone know for sure if there is a specific orientation that the oil ring should be installed?
Also, is there any specific location around the perimeter that the gaps should be installed? The Elsawin only specifies a 120 degree difference between them, and the picture shows the top ring gap adjacent to the valve clearance dent in the piston, which would subject the gap to the most sideways force, as opposed to inline with the piston pin. Elsawin also doesn't say anything about which way up the oil ring goes (at least mine doesn't)
    Thoughts?
    Cheers,
    Neil

You don't think the yellow marking indicates anything? Hopefully not....
