How can I remove the shift knob?

I'm looking to buy the facelifted gear shifter for my pre-facelift A7 but either I'm looking searching hard enough or there aren't any guides or videos that talk about how to remove the shift knob on the C7 A6/A7. It should be simple to remove but I don't want to screw it up, well the only part i'm really worried about is using the heat gun to turn the shifting rod 90 degrees. I hope you guys can help me by showing a guide or linking me to a video.

Only thing in that one is that there's no need to install the shifter into the boot
