    DSG hiccup

Hello and good day fellow enthusiasts, my question is in regards to my DSG hiccup that I experienced yesterday.

A little background info, usually in heavy NYC traffic and sitting in stop & go for sometime, my DSG sometimes does a harsh 3 to 2 downshift for when I press on the gas pedal. But yesterday the car was started, I waited for the revs to drop and I usually drive it easy until the engine oil temps are around 185 degrees F. On my way home from work I was merging onto the highway which consist of slight stop & go on a small grade, uphill slope.

As I was proceeding to merge, I released the brake and pressed on the gas pedal slightly and it felt like the clutch within engaged harshly, then immediately disengaged and engaged again (this cycle occurred about 3 times really quickly), causing a bucking motion (as if someone was learning to drive a manual and they come off the clutch too aggressive without too much throttle input and the car was fighting to keep the engine from stalling). I immediately pressed the brake pedal (this usually disengages the clutch at the slower, crawl speeds). I then pressed the accelerator again and the car drove normally with no lights or warning messages, etc.

Should this be reason for major concern? And this has never happened before.

Thank you for your time and any advice provided.

Ive had this similar behavior. It happened to me when it was hot out and I was stopped on an incline. It didn't feel good to me but haven't noticed anything bad since.

Yeah guessing it might be related to normal clutch slippage with DSG - I typically just find a gear that works for the speeds traffic is moving at and leave it there.... it's more forgiving on the clutches IMHO = no guessing for those odd bursts of speed/gas.
