And as for the suspension, you strike me as someone who should probably just get the KW street comfort coilovers now LOL. If you will only ever want a moderate drop though, the H&R + B8 combo is great.
Thanks man. I used about 7 coats, spraying from different angles each time to ensure proper coverage of the entire piece.

I was impressed with how cleanly and easily it cut itself as I pulled it off. Didn't do anything special. Just remember to overspray and get it on the car about 1" around the pieces you are dipping, and make the overspray thick or it won't peel right. Just YouTube any videos on plasti dip and you'll see what I mean.

I bought the glossifier as well and I tested it on my old "V6T" badges from my S4. It doesn't look horrible, but I preferred the matte finish on the Q5 once I saw it.

As for the suspension, this is my fiancés daily so I don't want to go too crazy. A moderate drop is probably good enough to clean up the fender gap and make it look better. As I mentioned before, in any of my cars, I've never adjusted the coils once they were installed. So it's probably not necessary to install coils on the Q unless I can get good coils for the same price as the shock/spring combo.

Using my been-married-awhile-ometer, I'd recommend the H&R's/B8's + 20's without a moment's hesitation. I am amazed at the ride quality (I'm on 21's...but I gotta' tellya'....those black 20x10 BBS CI-R's are calling my name). The coilovers will obviously get you lower, but if 'moderate' will work for you, marital harmony isn't your only reward. Any lower, and parking curbs and steep driveways come into play. Finally, not sure if this is a factor in your household, but my wife has mentioned multiple times that she loves an SUV because it sits higher and the visibility gives her confidence. Anyway...

Thanks man I appreciate the married guy advice! Moderate is more than enough. For her the height isn't a big concern. She had a coupe, and also the A3 convertible before this, and those were really low to the ground compared to the Q. I personally feel better with her up higher in an SUV, and she's liking it as well. Much safer IMO. Im strongly leaning towards that H&R/Bilstein combo for sure. Was also thinking 20's just to give her a little more cushion on the ride too.

CI-R's are nice. Ive always been a BBS fan. Ran CH-R's on my S5. What tire size are you running on the 21's?

I'm still on the stock Pirellis - 255/40. No rush on my end to make a move, but unless something else really grabs my attention I'll pull the trigger when these tires are ready for replacement. That 10" width & +25mm offset seems to be spot-on. FWIW, when I was having my shocks & springs installed, the shop was putting a BBK (Brembo 380mm) on a Monsoon Q5 TDI that was already wearing the CI-Rs in brilliant silver. "Shoulda' come like that from the factory" was muttered a couple of times. :)
