    Stock boost

I picked up an 01 1.8T a few weeks ago that was having some boost issues. I replaced the N75 and PVC valves, added a boost gauge and swapped in a Forge TIP and 710N.

From what I've read, stock boost levels should be around 10-12 PSI, and I'm hitting over 15 in 5th. Will upgrading the TIP and DV add 3-5 PSI?

The car is running good but could be a little smoother at WOT which I'm attributing to a shitty stock tune. My plan is to soon go unitronic.

Yea I've considered that but I feel 15 psi would be too low, even for the APR tune. I use to have a 2002 GTI with the APR tune and I remember it being closer to 18 min. Thanks

Looked under the hood and the engine code is AWW... would that indicate an engine swap from a VW? Any other way to confirm this isn't the stock motor?

Anyone know how likely it would be that an AWW head was swapped into my A4? I bought the car with a new timing belt installed, which would leave me to believe that the head was probably replaced.

So I pulled the engine code info from vwvortex...

    Engine Code: AWW/AWV
    Model Years: 2001 (07/00 on)
Compression Ratio: 9.3:1 (Officially, though in practice its 9.5:1 as other 1.8t motors)
    Horsepower (SAE Net): 150hp @ 5700RPM
    Torque: 162ft. lbs.@ 1950RPM
    ECU: Motronic ME 7.5
    DP Size: 50mm (1.97")
    Turbo: K03s
    OE Boost: .6 Bar (8.7psi)

    Engine Code: AWM
    Model Years: 2001-2005
    Compression Ratio: 9.3:1
    Horsepower (SAE Net): 170 @ 5900 RPM
    Torque: 166 ft. lbs. @ 1950 RPM
    ECU: Motronic ME7.1
    DP Size: 50mm (1.97")
    Turbo: K03s
    OE Boost: .6 Bar (8.7psi)

Everything appears to be the same except for the ECU. Will swapping in a AWW head require a AWW ECU as well?
