    Homelink in a non homelink?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok so I've got what I believe to be full set to swap over home link to my non Homelink 02 a4. (All oem) I've been searching for anyone who has done this but everything I find is retro fit or wire in. I was fortunate enough to grab whole system (I believe from a donner car.)
    I have

    -home link sun visor
-fog light wire harness with Homelink module connector
-headliner wire harness for domelights visor lights and Homelink
    -Homelink module

I believe I maybe missing a wire that gose though wheel well not to sure
I see a extra two wire connector on the frog light harness I'm not Familiar with.

If any one can confirm the list I have is everything or, if I'm missing anything would be excellent.

    Thanks for looking.

So I got one more wire for the power from the fog light harnesss to inside the cabin at the kick panel.
Blue female connector at the kick panel.

I did figure out From searching tho that there is a wire that gose to door control module ? I don't know what this is for only few people I found talking about this said same thing.
There's also a wire to the instrument cluster. (So hazerds can flash when linking Homelink)
I found it little too much to remove the blue and brown connectors at the kick panel as they go deep into the dash.
It seams my car did not come with any of this at the kick panel.

Not to sure how this is supposed to be if anyone has a wire digram maybe I can figure it out.
From my understanding, it's 3 wires from control module in front bumper one gose to ground in the fog light harness and stops right there- Other two go to harness in the fender well and to the kick panel.
I believe one is for switched power? And other is for sun visor to connect to the module in the bumper?

if anyone has a wire digram of a Homelink would be appreciated, or knows where the instrument cluster/door module wires go.
I think from this point I will be just taping into where the wires go I noticed on the brown connector has extra 4 wires that mine dose not

This is the brown and blue connector inside kick panel (female side) off the car I'm pulling Homelink off of
    Brown connector has 7 wires

    Backside of brown connector

This is brown connector (female side) on my car. 3 wires

Front side (please excuse the crude lighting as I just had a flashlight with my phone. IPhone flash sucks)

I did some more wire tracking today and it seams the white wire with blue stripe you see on the brown connector above
    Dose some tricky stuff.
Gose from brown connector into wire loom up and over dash to passenger side, is factory butt connectored together with another white wire with blue stripe, turns around gose into another wire harness loom back over the dash without connecting to anything on the passenger side wtf Audi?
Then gose back down to the kick panel to green connector.
All that could have been avoided if it just went a couple inches from the brown connector to the green connector.

Anyways from the male side of the green connector it continues out the cab though fender well and to abs module connector ?
I'm confused what a Homelink wire is doing in the abs module connector?

There is a green wire with purple stripe that gose from brown connector( 8E0 972 575 )to the driver door pin # 9 on connector (8z0 972 701)

And red wire with brown stripe seams to go to the door control module at the smallest black connector.
I Seam to have this wire on the female side of the brown connector on my car already.

I have to check over this some more when I get back to my car today.
I have the abs connector blue brown door control module and door connector now for reference.

Don't know if anyone's following this I'm already haveing hard time lol

I'm following this, and interested in the outcome, unfortunately I have nothing to add, haven't done this retro yet, thanks for posting.

    Thanks for reply

I did some more searching and I found that the white wire with blue stripe is nothing that is something else going to the sun roof motor why is on this other car and not mine is a mystery?
Anyways I think I'll try to recap some stuff

    I have
    -the Homelink control module
    - fog light harness with Homelink wire
    - junction 2 wire connector harness under headlight from headlight to kick panel (blue connector)
    - Homelink sun visor
    - full headliner wire harness with Homelink (brown and orange male connectors)

Here is what to my knowledge is needed to configure the rest
Please excuse the crude handwriting I'm no wiz with writing or grammar for that part.

This is my digram for wires needed underneath the dash and front or car for Homelink

So to my knowledge I just have to tap into the door connector and Hook the switched 12v up, find where the grey w/blue stripe wire gose (from female side of orange connector) and tap in there

I may just take some pins out of the connectors I got from car with Homelink and add to mine so I won't be tieing wires off the headliner harness.

    update:

This has been one of the most confusing retrofits I've done although I probibly haven't done a ton.

So I figured out that my car (2002 a4 Quattro sport manual) dose have the grey blue wire from female side of orange connector at the kick panel.
Now this wire is weird it gose to the passenger side and ties into 12 more grey w/blue stripe wires (one of them being one that gose to instrument cluster green connecter. I think it may tie into the lights for the security flash that all the blinkers do when you lock your car.
(Cool I kind of want to see if a led spliced in will flash with them when locking car would be cool side project.)

Continuing on since that grey w/blue wire is completely accounted for no splicing needed.
I saw someone who posted I forget where I think Audiworld. he did the retrofit and said that it worked fine without the wire to door module.
Leads me to more questions after looking at door motor/module I notice there's two part numbers for this part 8E1 959 801B on my car
    And other 8E1 959 801G

Now the B version (on my car) is missing pins 7,8,9,10

The connector I pulled off the car with Homelink had wires for all 4 of thoes spots with wires.
One of them being the green w/purple wire to the Homelink visor.
So I believe G version of the window motor/regulator is with thoes pins for?

What this means I don't know I'm still confused why Homelink would need to talk to the door.
I was thinking when you lock or unlock the car but that doesn't make sence because the Homelink system is on switched 12v
I think I will be continuing on without worrying about the green w/purple wire to the door.
My bet is it also needs the other 3 wires to do whatever it dose ? Maybe talk to other doors? I have no clue
At this point i just need to get it done with.

Your 02 must not have auto dim mirrors, memory seats and of course Homelink. Lilac wires 7 and 8 are for auto dimming mirror, 9 goes to the garage door opener and 10 goes to the memory seat module. I do not know what #9 does with the homelink though. Sorry.

Thanks for clearing that up that makes sense.
And my car dose not come with any of throughs above.
I was thinking would be nice to have auto dim mirrors though.

as I mentioned via PM, wiring to the door module did nothing for me. All I did was wire in the control unit to the existing IC wiring, and run the wires down to the panel and out to the receiver/transmitter in the bumper.
