    I am not exactly sure why they were discontinued. I have 3G MMI, so this doesn't work for me; well actually, what I should say is that it lights up, connects to my phone, but doesn't play music on the 3G MMI. This is for those without nav mostly. Those on AZ without nav and 2G MMI seem to have great success with these. It just doesn't work for my car.

    Any idea if it would work on a non MMI car?
    My wheel is located on the dash (not the console) so I believe that does not make it a 2G MMI.

    If you have 2g MMI, then you are the exact target demographic Audi had in mind for this unit. The instructions pdf will help you determine which software version you have, and will walk you through the setup.
