1. Can bent valves cause a p1338 (cam sensor short to ground or b+) code? This is with timing belt/chain still correctly timed (valve cover, pulley and 16link timing chain).

2. Will an intake cam with 1/2 tooth off cause a p1338 (tooth and timing mark on cam isn't exactly lined up). Currently on an Autotech intake cam, the timing isn't exactly like oem, but has been timed like this for the past year or so and only had this problem recently.

3. Will a failed cam tensioner cause bent valves (timing belt/chain didn't jump)? The tensioner that was on it was a new tensioner and around 10k miles on it, the lower tensioner piston felt very gritty. Replaced it with an older tensioner to diagnose, same results

4. Can bent valves cause erratic compression, using cheap gauges, 2 old ones and a new one? Ie, when I first tested it hit 150psi(cold), then sometimes it'l only get 100(cold) sometimes even only 60psi (warm). Compression gets lower when engine is warm (weird).

Don't have a leak down tester.
