I bought my car with 33k in 2015. The car had to go back to dealer for various things under warranty. Turbo, valve cover gasket, brake module error. Anyway after that was all sorted, I noticed when I was changing plugs at 35k that one cam actuator connector tip was bent slightly, the plastic portion that goes down into cam actuator. I didn't think anything of it as car was running fine. After changing plug again at 60k I guess the damage was already done and the tip just snapped off😲. Luckily I was able to super glue it on where it still was contacting but the ecm knew the problem.

    Hello,
    Have a '08 A4, 2.0T 6MTCar has been reliable over 14 months since purchase @ 53K mi. I now have 100K.
First saw this type of CEL after driving at high revs for sometime.
The first message was I think: "Driving with open or loose gas cap, close gas cap"
This went away after restarting car. This happened 1 more time.

So, yesterday I left work, everthing normal and "Check engine"light goes on, car still seems mormal but I get concerned. I babied it all the way home (approx 60mi) and checked codes

    I got:

    P0445-001 ML ON Evap System
    Large Leak Detected
    RPM 1834/min. Load 9.4%
    Absolute Pres: 1030.0 mbar
    VOLTS 13.97 Priority 2

I checked for loose fittings/hoses, pulled and checked PVC.
I had a loose clamp for my boost gauge hose so I tightened it. Cleared codes.

Car drove fine to work next day but on the way home the same CEL came back. The car ran fine home.

    Any ideas. Anyone?
Do I just need a new gas cap?

    Any help will be appreciated.

Been dealing with this error for 6 months or so. Just replaced the DV with Rev. D

Clearing codes on a weekly basis, and can't figure out what the deal is. I have had an APR tune for almost 5 years with no issues like this.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas? Turbo going bad? Time for a K04?

Not sure if '12 models received the updated "clip" for the turbo wastegate, I don't think so. Have you noticed any decrease in performance at all, specifically a lack of boost? Apparently that's how these IHI turbo's fail, the wastegates fail open which leads to poor performance. If I had to venture a guess I'd say you're probably on the right path with a failing turbo based on your tune and where you and I drive
(I-70 and mountain passes) Hoping it's something simple for you though. Run it by Apikol and have Troy take a look.

^Thanks man! It's time and would appear based on laggy action at low RPM's and fluttering feeling in general the IHI K03 is dying slowly. I'm just going to pull her out an replace with the K04. I appreciate your input, and the boys at Apikol are awesome!

However, I'll have a better Avant overall if I just get going with what should have been done several years ago. I was holding out for a bit of a hybrid or other offering but looks like it will be K04 and WM moving forward.

You are right, I-70 is hard on engines, transmissions and other vehicle systems!

There is a locking mechanism that locks the gas cap from inside the car. You can access this locking mechanism from inside the trunk when you pull back the trunk lining behind the gas cap. It's an easy fix and a known problem. Tight quarters though...

Yea I had a Ross tech scan and it turns out it's the diverted valve, it's a soft code though. Very common with GFB DV+ since it allows for additional pressure and ECU sees that as a malfunction when it's not.

    Ok. I got the DV+
It just seems like my car is running weak. Also pulled the Carista 07900 code. No clue what that is. Can't find info anywhere

That's the problem with carista, those codes don't actually mean anything... Ross tech actually tells you the Pcode value which is true to the manufacturer info so you can track down the exact issue.

I suggest you get a scan with Ross tech

    Hello,

    Have a 2009 A4 2.0 6AT with 71k miles.

Started driving in the morning, after around 1/2 mile car lost power and engine began to shake. CEL and ESP light came on as well. Turned around and limped back home. Ran the RossTech tool to see what codes are coming up:

Same problem on my 2010 a few months ago. CEL came back not long after I replaced the DV with the new version. Took it to Audi and they replaced my turbo under warranty (Audi extended the turbo warranty to 75,000 miles).

VZEE - I'd start by replacing your ignition coils for the misfires. Not expensive and easy to do to.
I had same symptons on my car a few days ago and got P0301misfire in cylinder 1. Replaced the ignition coil and it's running great again.

I also got this fault code when I first scanned my car with VCDS and did some research. You probably found the solution already but for those in future it is related to the solenoid keeping the fuel cap closed when the car is locked. Here's the link to the DIY that I used http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...solenoid-motor

Why would my epc light come on only sometimes and say do not exceed 4K rpm when I really get into it. When I turn the car off then back on it is off? Has anyone else had this happen or know what maybe the problem?

I'm hoping to get some help with my 2009 A4. Replaced the timing chain and all is well until I push the pedal enough for the turbo to kick in. Then I occasionally will get codes: P0016 and P2237 otherwise unless I get on it some, the engine light does not come on and doesn't always come on when I do get on it. I've tried changing the o2 sensor but haven't done the camshaft sensor. Both seem to me unlikely because it is intermittent and only when the turbo would be engaging? It does run a liitle oddly (like a bit of a stutter) when idling and in drive and just starting to move or coming to a stop. While in park it idles well.

P0141 or O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1, Sensor 2 is referring to your downstream O2 sensor (the one after the cat, or the second one). I have been receiving this on and off since its been really cold here lately, but from the research I have done, the code is basically saying that the O2 sensor isn't hitting the correct operating temperature, or its taking too long for the O2 sensor to start working once it hits the required operating temperature, and is often related to the electrical impedance being outside of the specified range. I have since been clearing this with carista, but have gathered that a new O2 sensor should resolve the issue. The next question is the debate between an OEM & an OEM equivalent for the replacement, since the price difference is considerable.

    General causes!
Potential causes for this code to set are:

Hi. I got error about A/C pressure/temp but my a/c still works.
I need to change that temp sensor or i can drive like that and have 0 problems?
And maybe someone can explain what that sensor is doing, why a/c needs outside temp

Replace a sensor, around 40euro and 5 min job. You dont need cooling anyway in winter, so you can drive like this, but up to you. It measures refrigerant pressure and temp(not outside temp)!

Problem with front parking sensors! 3 of 4 front parking sensors beep all time, sometimes 2 of 4. Connected vcds and no errors. In mass block 3 of 4 shows 0cm, but that who works 255cm (when they are on). When they are off, all 4 show 255cm (i think its not right value, but it shows that and one of them work properly :D) + rear works great all time with same value and didn't saw any way to change it.
Tried to wash them more times, but still 0 changes. They are broke and asks for change or its some other problem?
+ If need to change them, how about painting? on sides they are in car color, but after painting they still work? No need for special paint?

Threw up a CEL this morning along with a random EPC warning in the DIS.

    Diagnosed via Carista:

P0456 (OBD2 confirmed/pending/permanent): Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (very small leak) - 3 codes, ranging from confirmed to pending to permanent.

10530 - Engine. I can't get any info on this so I'm worried. Anyone ever have this code before?

I dropped it off at the dealer this morning, so hoping it's nothing serious. The P0456 code hopefully is just a faulty gas cap or something, but I'm really worried about the engine code. The service advisor says the EPC warning might be a misfire.

    Any thoughts?

So, dealer says they replaced NVLD Pressure Sensor.

This cleared the engine code, etc., but I STILL have a P0456 (tank ventilation system: A small leak) PERMANENT code being thrown up. Previously there was a P0456 Pending and P0456 Confirmed code as well.

    Any thoughts?

Replace your gas cap and get a PVC replacement kit.

I just got my 2012 a4 about a month ago and I'm getting the P2015 code for intake manifold runner position sensor. I've been doing a lot of research on it in the past few days because I just registered it and have to get it inspected within 10 days (Cant pass NY inspection with a CEL). The limited info i can find on this problem is on older (maybe B7) models or TDI's that are not quite the same. The 'common' problem that shows up is the lever/ vacuum connection that actually moves the flaps actually pops out of place making a big air leak. However in my case that piece only pops out a few mm and I cant hear any major air leak. After all the research I've done theres really no straight forward answer except to replace the whole intake manifold. Is there something Im missing or is replacement the only option? Im taking it to a local seller/mechanic to do other troubleshooting before I have to break down and buy the intake, seals, ect.
