    12 A6 to 13 S6

Purchased a 2012 CPO A6 3.0t Prestige the beginning of 2014. Fantastic car, really liked it, but from day one kinda wished I had gone the S6 route as the daily driver. But at the time I still had my extra weekend "fun car", and thought it a little much to have that and an S6. Did APR stage 2, H&R coil overs, and HRE FF01 in bronze.

Grew tired of the hassle and headaches having the extra car to worry about, and after kids rarely ever drove it. Also moved, went from being 5 min from my shop where I kept it, to 25 min. So I sold the Chevelle with the plans to also sell the A6 and upgrade to just a single car that would fill daily driver and fun/fast needs. The A6 went to a new home a couple weeks ago and the Chevelle a few months ago

Picked up my 13 S6 last week. CPO, 19K miles, phantom black, Carbon Atlas, Driver Assistance, Cold Weather, Black Headliner.

First choice was glacier white, as the A6 was Phantom black as well. but this one was such a good deal and I had been looking for months already I conceded on the color. The S6 was in Houston and it worked out perfectly that we were driving through Houston for family vacation, so rented a car and stopped along the way and did the deal on the S6

Already have done lowering links (dropped about 1.25 inches), wheels spacers that I had from my A6, and vinyl wrap on the chrome around the grill and windows. Really makes a big difference in the appearance. Go fast bits will come soon.

How much did the wraps cost? I've been looking at doing the same on my car. So far got a quote for $275 just for the window trim.

I like the look of your car a lot. It's essentially identically speced out as mine.

Over all, yes. Getting into the S6 coming from an A6 prestige 3.0t stg 2, I am not as blown away as if I was coming from a completely different platform, since I was already intimately familiar with the C7. But the car indeed just has that different feel like you would think and S/RS, M, or AMG would have. Biggest thing that sticks out is the airmatic suspension, seats, and DSG tranny. The auto in the A6 is damn good, but have really been enjoying the DSG in dynamic and manual mode. Seats are simply perfection. Air suspension is just sooo much better than conventional, I am not as low as I was on the coil overs on the A6 but the ride is significantly better.. and can't beat $150 for lowing links compared to $1500 for coil-overs, in addition to the easy install or removal.

The 3.0t stg 2 might only be a tad slower compared to a stock S6 maybe in terms of 1/4 mile time, but the normal spiritied driving range of 3K-5K rpm's the torque of the 4.0tt is awesome and more fun. I have always enjoyed turbo cars the most

$280. your quote is not bad, as the grill part would not add very much and is super simple compared to the window trim.

i had the same type of vinyl on the A6, but did that myself. I opted professional install this time around. It took me forever to do the window trim and get wrinkles in it within a few months.

We have nearly identically spec'd cars. Really like the grill. I bought vinyl to do the three gray slats, but may try the trim, how long did it take to do? Also what size front spacer do you have?

18mm front and back. Depending on how low the car is, 18mm can cause a slight rub in the front under hard 90 degree cornering
