2nd generation Q5 spied in Mexico, almost completely un-camo'd. Disappointed...

I came across this post on another site. It looks like another one of Audi's evolutionary redesigns, definitely not revolutionary. And it appears to be getting the interior of the A4. I see the same large LCD on the top of the stack and the same seats.

This thing better be packed with technology for saddling us with such an underwhelming physical redesign. How many cars is Audi going to drop the A4 interior in?

I hope that weird chrome trim above the door handle doesn't make it into production.

I don't dislike it, but I can't imagine feeling remorse for buying my '16. I'm anxious to see how the quality reports stack up.

I like that overall it still looks like a q5. The q5 is such a beautiful looking car it's hard to think they could make it better.

The mirrors are hella smaller.

The headlights lose the Amber marker and put it on the body (like my wife's Q3 has)

The front will look nice in black optic for certain. The lower fog grills and under grille valence area looks like a sporty shape. Would be nice to see a lower "Quattro" offering there ala the RS6. Looks like at least the S-line body pkg. there.

That chrome wrap around trim is butt ass ugly.

The rear tails look like they'll incorporate the dynamic turn signal tech the Q3 prestige has also.

Looks like a nice refresh. The chrome trim doesn't look legit, look at the lines around the front fender, I would say it's probably being used to disguise the car and it's real lines. Looks pretty good IMO

The headlights and grille actually have grown on me, but I'm not a fan of the first year of a new model. The biggest negative to me is the fact this is being produced in a completely new assembly plant in Mexico.

The chrome may be part of the disguise, like the headlight and grille tape, but Audi has been adding more and more chrome to the Q5 since 2015, so this could very well be legit.

Chrome body trim doesn't look to follow the body lines very well, especially the fender lines, so I'm guessing it's to disguise the true body lines.

So if this is a 2018 we might not see a new sq5 till 19 or 20?

I think it looks great! I agree the chrome trimmings has to go, especially the wrap around top chrome.. I do hope they drop the new v6 twin turbo for the SQ5 model, that will be one hell of a SQ!!!
